– Books – Hard and Soft Cover (Loose, not in boxes) – Shredded Office Paper – (must be inside a clear plastic bag) – Corrugated Cardboard (Flattened, no packing material inside)
2. Aim To Be Green Recycling Drop-Off
Co-mingle the following materials to be serviced by Rumpke Waste & Recycling. (All materials can be put into the same container together with NO plastic bags).
– Plastic Bottles, Jugs, Tubs, Cups, and Clamshell Containers – Aluminum Cans – Books – Paper Back – Cartons (juice, milk, soup) – Egg Cartons – Paper ONLY – NO STYROFOAM – Glass Bottles / Jars – Junk Mail – Magazines – Newspaper – Office Paper – Paperboard (cereal box) – Phone Books – Steel Cans
History
In 1999, the District, in partnership with the Ohio Division of Civilian Conservation, established a recycling and processing center at the Barney Quilter Civilian Conservation Camp. The District oversaw the collection, processing and marketing of the recyclable materials and contracted with the Division for labor. In 2003, the WSOS Community Action Commission, Inc. took over management and operation of the Camp and worked with the District by providing labor at the recycling and processing center. In early 2008, the center moved to being fully operated by District staff.
