About the Contest:

Each year, the District posts (9) billboards to help raise awareness of Earth Day and caring for our environment.  The designs of the billboards are the artwork of our local 5th Grade students attending Ottawa, Sandusky and Seneca County schools.  This year we have asked for the public’s assistance in selecting the designs that are currently posted.  Residents were able to select one design per county.

The Design:

The winning billboard designs selected are to help the people of our three-county district increase their environmental awareness.  Designs are to encourage residents to reduce, reuse, recycle or not litter.  Students also created designs to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day.

• District staff narrowed down the entries to (6) billboard design finalists per county.
• The public was encouraged to vote for their favorite design (one design per county).
• The top (3) designs with the most votes in each county became our billboard designs posted in celebration of Earth Day.
